Doug Orr has over 26 years of Information Technology and management experience working in the fast paced and extremely competitive telecommunications industry. Doug has held management positions with industry leaders such as MCI, LCI, Qwest, and Global TeleSystems as well as provided independent consulting. He has proven skills in IT leadership, managing and consulting in geographically dispersed environments, merger/acquisition/joint venture and start ups, and wide ranging international experience in the Information Technology field.

As Vice President of Corporate Systems reporting directly to the CEO for Global TeleSystems (GTS), Doug managed a team of over 130 staff responsible for the global IT infrastructure and operations of the company, including Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Office Automation, E-mail, Corporate Intranet, Help Desk and Desktop Support Services, Voice, Video Conferencing, Network/Server/Desktop Security, Virus Detection, Internal Support Systems (Financial and HRIS), and Data Center Operations. Doug managed the successful integration and consolidation of multiple diverse large international acquisitions spanning 21 countries to provide seamless global infrastructure to support the growing needs of the business. In addition to converting over 5000 internal customers from diverse e-mail systems to a single enterprise wide MS Exchange system, he effectively designed and managed numerous other programs aimed at significantly increasing the quality of IT services delivered to the enterprise while reducing headcount and costs.

As the Director of Office Automation at Qwest and LCI International (which was acquired by Qwest), Doug lead a team of over 100 staff to provide the company with a stable desktop and server computing environment, quality customer service and support for over 10,000 end users, and premier technical leadership in integration, operations, and support. Doug was responsible for the integration of over five large acquisitions and played a major role in the successful integration of LCI and Qwest after the merger.

Doug held a variety of management positions with MCI and Concert Communications (a joint venture between MCI and British Telecom), where he was responsible for designing and implementing a global LAN/WAN architecture for the joint venture including design, testing, installation, staffing, budgets, resourcing and prioritization, policies and procedures, security, stability and fallback, training, help desk, day-to-day operations, and on-going development. He was also responsible for creation and deployment of numerous other networks, help desks, applications, and other IT services to support the rapidly growing businesses.

Prior to founding OA associates, Doug provided IT management and operational expertise to help launch a new telecommunications company, Velocita. At Velocita, Doug helped staff and develop a new IT operations team, build out a new data center, integrate numerous legacy systems inherited from parent companies, and assist in the project management and design of the telemetry network to manage the nationwide fiber optic network.

Doug has a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia.
